STRUCTURE

1.    Defining Assertiveness
Find out what assertiveness is and how it can transform communication within organizations. Consider the need for assertiveness as a leader and explore how assertiveness manifests itself.

2.    Behaviours and Impact
Discover the four behavioural types of aggressive, passive, manipulative and assertive. Find out your personal style and its characteristics. Learn about the long- term implications of the different styles.

3.    Assertiveness from Within
Gain self-awareness of your beliefs about your rights and other people. Explore how you can increase self-esteem and create an internal message which is respectful of yourself and other people.

4.    Stress Management
Explore techniques to manage and control stress that can lead to aggressive or passive behaviour. Work on breathing, eye contact, tone of voice and even posture.

5.    Assertive Communication
Learn how to make requests and give instructions in an assertive way. Discover how you can find your assertive voice and what words to use. Learn to get comfortable saying “no” and delegating tasks.
