STRUCTURE

1.    Key Concepts
A guide to what behavioral interviewing is and why it is effective. Challenge previous held beliefs about interviewing. Examine common interview mistakes like the ‘halo’ effect and ‘cloning’. Discover how behavioral interviewing can avoid bias and build a more diverse workplace.

2.    The Interview Process
Explores what should happen before, during and after an interview takes place. Explore the pre-interview process and how to assess CVs. Find out what makes a strong CV and how to avoid bias during the reviewing process.
 
3.    Asking Questions
Examine how to write interview questions effectively. Explore the best way to make questions relate to job qualifications or competencies and allow for more open responses. Discover what questions are off limits or unacceptable.

4.    Listening Skills
Uncover the importance of listening skills and effective note taking. Learn how to take accurate notes and avoid making assumptions or allowing prejudice or bias to cloud your listening.

5.    Selection
Explore how to rate candidates effectively and avoid personal bias. Examine how to run a successful “wash up” meeting.
